As you may know, NAMB’s Education Program offers a variety
of courses that meet both your licensing and professional needs.
Our volunteer leadership and education department staff have focused
on accomplishing this goal by working with your states to get courses
approved for continuing education credits and making sure that the
courses we provide will not only help you stay licensed but also
help you learn strategies to increase your business.
For NAMB/WEST, we have secured course approvals in 16 out of the
17 participating states. Securing these approvals means that you
can get credit not only for the courses you take within your state
but that you can use courses you take at the NAMB/WEST meeting for
continuing education in your home state.
To get courses approved for continuing education, state regulators
must often evaluate both the quality of the course content and the
faculty and procedures NAMB and your state use when offering the
courses. State regulators are asked not only to recognize the courses
given in their own state but also to certify the program as a whole
so that you can use credits for the courses for credit that you
take outside of your state.
Many state regulators have shown that they recognize that the NAMB
brand of education means high standards and consistency, and they
are willing to work with us. The efforts to secure state approvals
are constant, and NAMB has now secured course approvals in almost
every state that requires continuing education.
For you, these approvals mean that when you take courses at NAMB
conferences, many of you can use those credits in your home states.
It also shows that when you take a NAMB course, you’re taking
a class that has been approved by an outside body as meeting high
standards and providing necessary information.
We are also working on providing more education that will help you
increase your business. The courses offered provide more than just
credits to meet state requirements; they also provide information
to help you improve your business.
Courses such as the ABCs of FHA and Reverse Mortgages help provide
you with the information necessary to expand your business. We are
constantly working to make sure that our course offerings not only
provide you with the basic information you need to stay licensed,
but that they offer you new insights into the business. When you
finish a NAMB course, you come away not only with credits for your
license but with a better understanding of your business.
On a final note, I’d like to thank all of our NAMB education
participants for showing their commitment to increasing their knowledge
of our industry. I’d also like to thank all of the NAMB members
who continue to work to improve the housing market and support reforms
that will protect consumers and our industry.
