2007 NAMB Awards Honor Industry's Best



McLean, Va. - June 26, 2007 - The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) today recognized excellence in the mortgage broker industry during the NAMB REIGNS 2007 Annual Convention and Exposition, in Seattle, Wash. Each year, NAMB's award program recognizes those who are the best at promoting the industry, maintaining high ethical standards, and supporting the Association.

This year's winners:

State Affiliates of the Year: This award, sponsored by Freddie Mac Corporation, is presented to state affiliates that have recorded the largest membership growth and done the most for the industry and their communities. The Utah Association of Mortgage Brokers received the award in the Red category (for states with 300 members or less). The Indiana Association of Mortgage Brokers earned the award in the White category (for states with between 301-599 members). The Oregon Association of Mortgage Professionals won the award in the Blue category (for states with 600 or more members).

President's Award for Merit: This award recognizes individuals whom the NAMB president feels helped him the most during his term. This year's recipients were: John Marcell, of Better Mortgages, Inc.; Gary Akright, of Dominion Mortgage Company; Denise Leonard, of Constitution Financial Group, Inc.; and Kelly Miller, of the Indiana Association of Mortgage Brokers.

Volunteer of the Year: Joseph Falk, CMC, CRMS, of Irian Mortgage Services, Coconut Grove, Fla., earned this year's award for the professional member whose commitment, participation and dedication to promoting NAMB's efforts stood out above the rest.

Affiliate Company of the Year: Wells Fargo Wholesale Lending won the Affiliate Company of the Year, for promoting the goals and efforts of NAMB.

Distinguished Industry Service Award: Jim Nabors, CMC, CRMS, of The Citizens Banking, Sandusky, Ohio, received this award for his years of distinguished service to the Association and the industry.

Eagle Award: Countrywide earned this award for its continued support of NAMB, its members and the mortgage industry.

NAMB is the only national trade association solely dedicated to serving mortgage brokers. The Association promotes professionalism in the industry by offering education courses, three levels of certification, news publications, national and regional meetings, and other services.
